How
can I direct my domain name to my hosting provider's name servers?
If you wish to point your domain name to a third party hosting
provider, you should contact them for details of their name servers.
Then simply access the "Domains" area of your account control panel,
select the domain name you wish to edit, choose "Name servers" and
enter your hosting provider's name server information.
How
can I change the contact details for my domain name?
To change the contact information for your domain name, simply
access the "Domains" area of your account control panel and select the domain name (or group of domain names) you wish
to edit. Click "Change contact information" and select the contact
you want to edit. You can update one contact at a time,
or change all your contacts at once. Changes made to contact information
are applied immediately.
How
can I change the legal owner of my domain name?
To change the legal owner of your domain name, access the
"Domains" area of your account control panel, select the domain name
you wish to edit and click "Change the legal owner".
Enter details of the new owner and complete the request.
The resulting form must be signed by both parties.
This should then be mailed to the
Customer Care Center
for us to process the change of ownership.
Once we receive your documentation, the process takes 2-3 business days
to complete, and is subject to
a $25 processing fee.
How
can I edit my NIC handle?
FastVirtual's online control panel system is faster, easier, and more reliable than
Network Solutions' NIC handle-based system.
If you need to update the contact information for your domain
name, simply access the "Domains" area of your account control panel
and select the domain name (or group of domain names) you wish to edit. Click "Change
contact
information" and select the contact you would like to edit. You can
update one contact at a time, or change all your contacts at
once. Changes to contact information are applied immediately.
If you need to update your NIC handle with Network Solutions,
please visit their web site at http://www.networksolutions.com/.
How
long do domain name changes take to be applied?
Name Servers
The registry is updated every 12 hours. It then takes an
additional 24-48 hours
for name server changes to filter through to various DNS servers
across the Internet.
You should allow up to 48 hours for changes
to be fully applied.
Contact Information
Changes to contact information are applied immediately.
Valued-Added Features
Changes to value-added features (URL forwarding, frame forwarding,
email forwarding, etc.) are applied immediately.
I
cancelled during the 5 day grace period. When will I receive
my refund?
FastVirtual may provide a 5 day grace period for new .com, .net
or .org domain names. This enables you to change the registration
term, change the domain name, correct a misspelling, or cancel the
registration during this period. If the grace period is available, it
will be shown beside the domain name in your account control panel.
If the grace period was available, and you cancelled your domain
name within this period, your
payment will be refunded within 7-10 days.
I
have several domain names under different FastVirtual accounts. Can I
combine them all under the same account?
Yes. To combine multiple domain names under a single account,
access the "Domains" area of your account control panel and select
"Move existing FastVirtual domains to this account". Enter your account
names and passwords for the accounts you wish to combine, click "Continue"
and follow the instructions.
Please remember that all domains sharing an account must have the
same administrative contact. This policy is in place for your security,
to prevent unauthorized access to your domain names.
I
have several domain names in one FastVirtual account. Can I move them
to separate accounts?
Yes. To split domain names into separate accounts, access the
"Domains" area of your account control panel, select the domain name
you wish to move and click "Move domain to
another account". Enter the account name and password for the account
that the domain will be moved to, click "Continue" and follow the instructions.
Please note that the account must exist before you can move domains.
